Pretty obvious..well not so much

PRETTY OBVIOUS... Well.. Not So Much

Human beings have a way of complicating the most obvious and straight forward of things.case in poin, who is needed for the below vacancy... But I come back,

Think of that lady who wears a very short skirt and keeps pulling it down, or the guy who wears baggy pants with no belt and keeps pulling them up, or the guy who picks up his phone in a noisy place to loudly declare that he can't hear you on the other end or my personal favorite, the lady who gets into an already full matatu and complains all the way how uncomfortable she is.
To all these scenarios, you'd think the solution is pretty straightforward, right?  Wear a long enough skirt, or get a belt, send a text or let the call go to voicemail and finally catch the next matatu that actually has a seat for you.

The above scenarios also negate the exact purpose of the original intention. We wear clothes to hide our nakedness, so if you wear those that require pulling up or down, it defeats the purpose. The phone is used to communicate so if you pick up to let me know we can't communicate, again, defeats the purpose.

Training, working out and fitness,  work the same. If you workout, say 3-4 days a week, that means that you workout for only 3-4 hours a week. You have 164-165 hours left in the week. During this time, your other lifestyle behaviors should be in line with your training goals & objectives.

These behaviors include:
1. Quality of sleep(Muscles are repaired and rebuilt during rest/sleep)
2. Density of Nutrition in the foods that you eat. Food Choices is what distinguishes healthy and unhealthy.
3. Posture (1,000 situps will not make sense if you'll go back to the office and slouch)
4. Stress Levels ( Find ways of dealing with stress which affects your hormones)
5. Water intake, plain old water.
Bottom line, what you do when you are not in the gym training, will either make or break your training. So it's not just about clocking the hours in the gym, then doing whatever else it is that you want to do after that. Your after workout life (The biggest chunk of your life) has to have a positive impact on your workout.
So the next time you get tempted to eat your cheese cake after working out or go out clubbing after an hour of heavy weight training on a Friday, all to reward yourself for 'Clocking in' your Gym time, know that you are pulling your very short skirt down.
